AskCruise.ai is operated by AskCruise Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17241334. We provide an AI-powered cruise discovery service accessible at askcruise.ai and askcruise.co.uk.

2. What data we collect and why

Registration of interest

When you register your interest via our coming soon form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and any cruise interest preferences you select. We use this to notify you when we launch and to understand what types of cruises our audience is interested in.

AI chat conversations

When you use our AI-powered cruise discovery chat, the content of your conversation is processed to generate cruise recommendations. Conversations may include information you volunteer such as travel dates, budget, party size, and destination preferences.

Usage data

We collect standard website analytics including pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location (country/region level). This helps us improve the service. We do not build individual behavioural profiles.

3. How we use AI

AskCruise.ai uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, to power our cruise recommendation chat. When you use our chat feature, your messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy and data processing terms.

We do not use your conversations to train AI models. No automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made about you based on your conversations.

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers, solely to operate our service:

All third-party processors are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with UK GDPR requirements. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

7. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure API key management, and access controls limiting who can view personal data.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and inform affected individuals without undue delay.

8. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
